A
core service of the Club is providing scholarship funding
to local students. Compared to other large ND Alumni
Clubs our scholarship fund has historically been small,
as is the amount of funds we provide annual in
scholarships.
For example, at 2004, the Detroit Club had approximately
$3.5 million in their fund. Our Club scholarship fund, as
of June 2003, had a market value of $387,701 (after
earning a return over the five years of 9.2%). The
Dayton, Ohio Club provides approximately $30,000 a year
in scholarships, nearly triple the level we provide. In
2003, eight local students received $1,500 of scholarship
funding each.
