How You Can Get Involved
Do You NING?
Thanks to those who have already expressed an interest in our NING community! NDNY is currently piloting a new career and social network exclusively for dues-paying members. The first in the country for Notre Dame alumni, the private network will give NDNY members an opportunity to create their own alumni profiles and explore networking opportunities, private events, ticket forums, book clubs and more. If you are interested in getting early access to the community, contact Michelle McCarthy at ndnysecretary@gmail.com.
SSLP (summer Service Learning Program)
Each summer the club sponsors several students to come to NY and perform community service. The biggest inhibitor to this effort is finding room and board for these students. If you know of any organizations that might be looking for student volunteers next summer (especially ones that offer housing) we’d love to learn more! If you’re interested in helping with planning, coordination or fundraising, please email ndnypresident@gmail.com.
Networking Chair
The club is looking for someone to facilitate networking events, either general efforts/events applicable to all alumni or activities oriented to particular industry interest groups. Law and Finance groups are forming, and we are happy to support and communicate efforts in other areas such as media/publishing, engineering, architecture, etc. If you’re interested in helping, please email your suggestions and contact details to ndnypresident@gmail.com.
New Venue/Format for UND
For 2009, we want to price UND at a more accessible level and so we want to begin now to consider a new format and venue. The ideal approach would be to have the event in corporate space, which might enable us to find a distributor or winery to sponsor alcohol. Overall, costs would be lower and we would not be subject to contractual minimums for food and beverages. Any and all suggestions on venue/format/sponsors are welcome.
Hospital Support Program
We are seeking a volunteer for the Hospital Support Program. See http://ndsenioralumni.org/hospital.html
